Saje Wellness: My Candy Shop

Hippocrates once said: “Nature itself is the best physician.” Almost a decade ago I became more aware of the healing benefits of nature and aromatherapy, and that’s when I became an essential oil junkie (yes, you read that right!). I have quite the collection of essential oils for many purposes, but before you go passing any judgment, hear me out (lol)! Many different cultures have used essential oils for thousands of years, for healing, religious and spiritual practices, beauty care, aromatic massages, and culinary practices, etc. (they’re just not pretty little scents!). Essential oils have also been referenced in ancient texts, such as the Vedas and the Bible. So, it’s quite evident that the magic of essential oils has lived on for centuries, and they have provided, and still do, a multitude of benefits. So, if you are in the market for essential oils, I would start with one of my favourite spots: Saje Wellness. This company is highly focused on wellness and helping people feel better, naturally. They are an amazing company producing 100% natural oils & blends, and all of their product ingredients are responsibly sourced via safe and renewable resources. They also maintain respect for our planet by implementing sustainable manufacturing practices, which only makes sense since the Earth is a source of healing (When we heal the Earth, we heal ourselves!). Their packaging is also made out of recyclable materials. Here are a few of my favourites from Saje Wellness:

In the past, I’ve religiously used a number 1 favourite for many: Moroccan Oil; however, did you know that it contains ingredients related to cancer risks and allergens? I became aware of this when my body grew sensitive whenever I used Moroccan oil, especially as I started implementing cleaner skincare and beauty practices. So, for a while, I went without using any hair oil and just embraced my frizz (lol)! Then, I found this new goodie at Saje Wellness: Hair Repair Oil. It is, of course, formulated with all-natural ingredients, such as argan and coconut oil, which helps to keep your locks well hydrated and healthy! Rosemary oil is also one of the ingredients, which helps in stimulating hair growth. It is recommended to apply this oil when hair is damp. You only need a few drops to do the trick; however, sometimes I get carried away and use a little more than recommended, but my curls seem to love it! The formula is very light-weight, so your hair won’t feel and look greasy (with most natural hair oils, greasiness seems to be an issue). It also has a lovely refreshing scent! Without question, I would highly recommend this as a healthier hair oil option that’ll keep your mane sane.

Whenever I got sick as a little girl, my mother would give me a massage using eucalyptus oil (maybe this is what sparked my fascination with essential oils?). I also remember the symptom relief I felt after using this oil for just a couple of days (thanks Mama, for introducing me to the wonderful world of natural healing!). Saje’s Immune oil is a little gem that is comprised of many soothing ingredients, such as eucalyptus, cinnamon, and tea tree oil. You can purchase this roll-on individually, or as part of a set called “Pocket Farmacy.” Why is it called the Immune Oil? Well, it elicits immune responses to increase blood flow and lymph circulation, thus supporting a stronger immune system. All of the ingredients combined help to ease the symptoms of upper respiratory illnesses, and it helps to relieve discomfort associated with the cold and flu. Fun fact: some of Saje’s products can be obtained as “over the counter” prescriptions in the States. I personally like to roll this on daily, not just for the supporting immunity benefits, but also for its cooling and comforting sensation it leaves on the skin. Just something to look into as the cold and flu season is just around the corner (yikes!).

Your nose will be tickled pink with this anti-bacterial yoga mat spray! It has such heavenly aromas of orange, niaouli, and patchouli oils. The blend of oils in this spray contains antibacterial properties, making it a perfect and natural disinfectant for your yoga mat, or any other surfaces it’s safe to be used on (I would bathe my entire house in this stuff if I could!). In addition, the oils used in this spray, such as orange oil, promote a sense of relaxation and has an uplifting effect on mood. The aroma of patchouli oil helps to ground and balance emotions, which is the perfect scent to roll out on your mat for yoga practice! I’ve been using this spray for a few years now, and my mat feels very clean after each use. It hasn’t left behind any residue, which helps in preserving my mat’s original state. Also, every time I roll my mat out in the studio, people are always complimenting the scent. Check this spray out if you haven’t already— your yoga mat (and olfactory system) will thank you!

As you can see, essential oils can be used for countless reasons and their benefits are simply limitless. Therefore, we definitely need to continue healing Earth, so that we may continue healing ourselves, naturally. Furthermore, If you’re new to the world of aromatherapy and the use of essential oils, Saje Wellness is just one popular spot to get your hands on some essential oil goodies!
